How to Clean Your Tapestry (part 1 of 2)

Tapestries are decorative pieces of artwork just like paintings. If you don’t want it to be damaged, it is best you learn how to properly take care and clean it.

The first thing you have to know is how to properly display it. Since most tapestries are hung, look for the sleeve or rod pocket located at the back. It is there so that a dowel or rod will be able to go in and then you can put this securely over the brackets.

If this was delivered to you by parcel, it may have some creases. To fix it, get your iron and use it gently over the affected area.

When it comes to cleaning tapestries, the good news is that it does not require a lot of maintenance. You just have to vacuum it once or twice a year both in the front and back. Never wash your tapestry as this could ruin the fabric. This can be dry cleaned but make sure this is done by a company that specializes in dry cleaning this item.

There are times that your tapestry may bend, curl or look like wave and this is usually caused by a change in the weather. One way to fix it is to put weights at the bottom corners. This should be placed evenly so you don’t apply too much stress to just one section of your tapestry.

Another option will be to get a wooden rod or dowel and also put this on the bottom corner of the tapestry. To do that, you have to create your own sleeve in the bottom and then insert a rod that must be a little shorter than the tapestry that should do the trick.

Tutoring Your Own children (part 2 of 2)

• Get your child involved in the process. For example, determining the days and hours for tutoring sessions.  Do not just set it for them.  Include them in deciding what days would be suitable and at the same time consider your own schedule. The least that you want is cancelling tutoring sessions just because they coincide with a schedule that could have been avoided.

• Never, ever lose patience with your child just because they cannot understand what you say to them.  Most children would avoid tutoring with their parents because they think that they are too strict or pushes them too hard.  Praise your children for good things done and use encouraging words.

• Encourage you child to first try to answer their homework or exercise before getting any kind of help.  And if they ask for your help, do not just provide the answer.  Help them understand how you’ve come up with the answer.  This would actually help children in building their academic performance and independence.

• To measure if your children have improved, you could asses it by giving tests and assessments (not too long though) and analyzing the results.

Some parents may fear it, while others may embrace it.  Family or parents tutoring their own children have benefits, parents and child would be able to bond together and establish closer relationships with each other.

Whether it is that parents hire private tutors or tutor their kids, is still the same.  Parents still want their children to have quality education and a better future.

Tutoring Your Own children (part 1 of 2)

Some parents find hiring a tutor for their kids would be the best since they are doubtful of their own qualifications as a tutor.  While some parents think that tutoring their own children would be a rewarding experience, since they would have to spend the time together.

As mentioned, there are really some parents who think that they are not qualified to teach their own children.  But some experts would say that teaching your own children could be a breeze since parents know their children better. It is also said that parents know their children’s potential, thus they would know what are best for them. Parents just need to have boost in their confidence.

Another common apprehension of parents is that they think that they won’t be able to deal with their children.  Parents who do not have a healthy communications with their children fear that tutoring sessions would eventually lead to misunderstanding.

Some experts say that tutoring your own children is a remarkable experience.  As a parent, you get to guide your children on their important development years.  You just have to be careful to avoid any impression that you are forcing and demanding them to perform well in school and would not expect and accept anything else.

To avoid these circumstances, there are things that would make tutoring our own children a happy experience for both parents and kids.

• Consult with your child’s teacher, first.  You would need information about what subjects your child is having difficulty.  This would help you identify which field you would be putting more focus and assistance.

• Make tutoring sessions something they would look forward to. Remember that your kids are in school for most of the day.  They are just very tired in listening to different teachers giving lectures.  You would have to avoid that kind of atmosphere when tutoring them.  You could use different education materials that can be used during tutoring sessions.  You can buy puzzles, games, stories, worksheets and other materials that would suit your child’s level.

How to Clean Your Tapestry (part 2 of 2)

Tapestries may fade due to direct sunlight. To prevent that from happening, put it somewhere else or apply window film or tint to reduce the amount of ultraviolet light coming from the window.

For those who want to give their tapestry an antique look, you can try having it washed or tea stained. Again, make sure this is done by a professional to prevent it from being damaged.

If you have children in the house, make sure the tapestry is out of their reach. If they pull on it, they could damage the fabric. The same goes if you plan to use the tapestry as a rug because your pet could chew it to pieces.

Tapestries are not only hung on walls because they can also be used as a rug or a throw. It is your option how you want to display it but just remember how much you paid it.

You can easily find tapestries for sale in your neighborhood store or online. Since there are so many designs to choose from, you are sure to find something that will match your home. If you want to display one design for one season and another in the following months, knock yourself out because if it is not available in one store, you are use to find it in another.

It is one thing to buy a tapestry and another to take care of it. By following the instructions mentioned, the tapestry you have is sure to last for many years before its time to replace it with a new one.

http://www.bromotravelindo.com

Rounds
Depending on which sports body is sponsoring the amateur boxing game, the number of minutes per round can vary between two to three minutes. Nonetheless, the number of rounds remain the same. For both the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games, there are 4 rounds that last three minutes each. For other bouts, however, such as those sponsored by the Amateur Boxing Association, there are just two minutes for each bout.

Protective gears
Boxers are required to use protective headgears. Gloves have a white stripe around the knuckles. The official gloves weigh only 10 ounces and should have the standard white strip.

Officials
The main man on the ring is the referee who basically monitors the conduct of the players. He also takes care of maintaining fair play as well as regulate movements on the rings. He also addresses all violations in the ring.

Weights
Unlike professional boxing, amateur boxing only has the basic weight divisions. They consist of the following (from the lightest weight divisions to the heaviest weight divisions):

Light Flyweight
Flyweight
Bantamweight
Featherweight
Lightweight
Light Welterweight
Welterweight
Middleweight
Light Heavyweight
Heavyweight, and
Super Heavyweight

Basic Rules
Boxers are illegible only in the ring if they are wearing the proper protective gear and recommended shirts and pants.

The fighter with higher points, regardless of the power of the blows, wins.

The boxer must move fast since amateur boxing only lasts for 3 to 4 rounds, depending on the bout's sponsor.

The winning boxer is determined by the number of points except on bouts where the referee stopped the game. In case of a tie, the judges will deduct the worst and best scores from the total score of the boxer. The winner is the one with most points left.

Basics Of Amateur Boxing (part 1 of 2)

Boxing has been a favorite past time for many centuries. That is, from the times of the Egyptians in the 2nd millennium B.C. until now when there are more rules to govern the field and spectators to watch the not-so-brutal fights. This is evidenced partially by the inclusion of boxing in the modern Olympics since it started in 1908 as well as the popularity of professional boxing.

In their present forms, amateur boxing and professional boxing are different in many respects. Below are the marked differences that anyone who is considering a career in amateur boxing might want to know.

Amateur boxing is somewhat less popular than professional boxing an is oftentimes seen only in the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and other games sponsored by independent sports bodies. In some of the places in the former Soviet Union and Cuba, however, amateur boxing gathers more fans and enthusiasts than its counterpart.

Scoring system
The scoring system used for amateur boxing games is designed such that only the clean blows are recognized and scored instead of the damage that each blow renders.

Scoring
A clean blow is one that lands cleanly on the designated scoring points. To score, a boxer must land a clean contact with the knuckles of his glove either on the head or on the part of the body above the belt. Judges award the score by hitting the button of computer scoring system for each blow. Three out of the five ringside judges must hit the button in no less than one second apart.

During an infighting, that is when the fighters are fighting up close, scores are awarded to the player who throws the better punches or exchanges.

Blows that are not awarded are those that infringe the rules of amateur boxing, punches that did not land on the white strip of the gloves' knuckles and those that lack weight.

The designer said that she started designing patterns when she made dinner cards with gold embroidery; the cards became very popular. Also in the 1990s, a wool manufacturer, Madeira, started manufacturing embroidery paper kits which were sold under the name Pickpoints. Only few kits were produced though.

In 1998, Card Inspirations which is an English craft company launched stitching cards. These were named Form-A-Lines which were first designed by Anne Harding and Linda Jefferson. Then, David Jefferson designed a computer drawing program which was used to convert the cards into patterns. These became the first two Form-A-Lines kits which became very popular; thus, the evolution of paper embroidery begun.
